TDT Collections

The Tourist Development Tax Collection for the month of June was a 10.4 percent increase over the same month in 2017 with a 8.5 percent increase for the fiscal year.

 

DestiMetrics

For the month of June, occupancy had a 3.6 percent increase and there was a 1.3 percent increase in ADR over the same month in 2016. The month of July has a projected performance of a 1.4 percent increase in occupancy and a 1.3 percent increase in ADR over the same month in 2017.The past six months had a 5.1 percent increase in occupancy and a 0.1 percent increase in ADR. The six months ahead have a projected performance of a 1.2 percent decrease in occupancy with a 2.3 percent increase in ADR.

Summer Sports Success

Each year during the months of June and July, teams and leagues from all over the nation travel to PCB to participate in various tournaments for both baseball and softball at Frank Brown Park. Every summer is a big hit and this year was certainly no different. This year there was 636 teams that visited the area, with an estimated 51,316 room nights and $34,483,186.00 in direct econmic impact as a result!

Sales Travel Show Update

This summer, the Visit Panama City Beach Sales team is on the road attending many travel and trade shows, meeting with potential visitors and conference planners. The team attended the FSAE Annual Meeting in Fort Lauderdale this past month and will be headed to Connect Association next, an appointment show in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Get Involved With AlertBay 

Last year, Bay County and the Bay County Sheriff's Office introduced AlertBay, a mass notification system that provides real-time emergency updates to the public. Residents and visitors can sign up to receive these alerts in a variety of ways, including text messages, phone calls, emails and more. Help keep your guests informed by helping to advertise AlertBay at your business through different platforms to ensure the safety of those both living and visiting Bay County. To participate in this initiative, complete this survey and Bay County Emergency Services will reach out with additional information.
