TDT Collections

Tourist Development Tax Collections for the month of June were up 5.8 percent from FY 2018. Year-to-date collections are down 16.4 percent from the FY 2018. 

Note: The TDC uses FY 2018 for comparison purposes in order to factor out the false economy that occurred in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael.

The special events team has updated the complete calendar of events for the remainder of the year. Additionally, please see the updated information below for Gulf Coast Jam, Pirates of the High Seas Fest and Beach Home for the Holidays. • Gulf Coast Jam has been rescheduled to March 26-28, 2021. 
• Pirates of the High Seas Fest will take place virtually this year the weekend of October 9-11, with a virtual scavenger hunt the week leading up to the ninth. 
• Beach Home for the Holidays will be a Facebook Live Christmas Tree lighting and fireworks show on November 27.

President & CEO Dan Rowe Appointed Chair of Visit Florida Board of Directors

We are thrilled to announce that Dan Rowe has been appointed as the 2020-2021 Chair of the Visit Florida board. Visit Panama City Beach works directly with Visit Florida to drive economic opportunity, job creation, community sustainability and quality of life for its residents through marketing and promotion.

"This year, Visit Florida will likely face new challenges; however, with the help of our community we can continue to position Florida as the most dynamic tourism destination on the planet," shares Rowe. "Together we can take Florida places that no other destination will be able to match."

Harrison Moon graduated as part of the 37th class of Leadership Bay. Leadership Bay is a community leadership development program presented by the Bay County Chamber of Commerce. Virtual Tradeshows

Visit Panama City Beach participated in the All American Roadshow, a virtual travel and tourism tradeshow experience for U.S. travel advisors. Since road trips will likely be popular in 2020, the tradeshow helped travel advisors engage with domestic suppliers and DMO's, virtually.

Our Director of Destination Sales, Helen Adami, joined representatives of other Florida DMO's as a panel participant in the tradeshow's breakout session, Florida is for Families. She discussed the different activities and attractions that help make Panama City Beach a Real. Fun. Beach.

Chasin' The Sun Renewed for 6th Season

We're excited to announce that Chasin' The Sun, our award-winning fishing and coastal lifestyle television show, will return for a sixth season! New episodes are currently in production and will premiere on Discovery Channel in January 2021. Seasons 1-5 are available for viewing on demand at ChasinTheSunTV.com.
