TDT Collections

The Tourist Development Tax Collection for the month of February had a 49.76 percent increase over the same month in 2018 with a 73 percent increase for the fiscal year. Overall, collections are up $2.6 million since the beginning of the fiscal year.

Winding Down from UNwineD

The UNwineD event for 2019 was an exciting success, featuring craft beer, wine and spirits, along with culinary creations by the South's top leading chefs. Visit Panama City Beach's partnership with Southern Living helped elevate the exposure of the destination, with ticket sales to attendees from over 30 states as well as Germany and Canada. Ten influencers from around the U.S. and Canada also joined us for the weekend festivities, where they posted photos of the destination and the event on their social media channels reaching over a combined following of 1,387,116. The SOLD OUT Grand Afternoon Tasting on Saturday, March 23 brought talented vendors from across the area, as they entertained over 1,200 guests with their delectable creations and beverages. Upon arrival to the Grand Afternoon Tasting, guests were given a voting card to pick their favorites in each category to choose the Top Tastemakers of UNwineD and the winners. Congrats to our winners!

Media & Creative Update

Visit Panama City Beach media and creative campaign, How Do You PCB?, launched earlier this year with the activation phase going live last month. This part of the campaign involves the Visit PCB audience on social media by asking them to vote for their favorite user-submitted image in each of the four persona categories. Voting for this campaign will close end of day on Friday, April 5th, with winners being announced the following week. To check out the campaign and cast your vote for your favorites, click here!

Welcome, Lacee Rudd!

Visit Panama City Beach welcomes Lacee Rudd as the new Public Relations Manager on the marketing team. Rudd joins the team after serving as Assistant Program Manager for Innovative Professional Solutions, Inc. in Panama City Beach. In this role, she assisted in managing a team of over 30 employees who supported various Department of Defense programs as well as assisted in developing and implementing the company’s quality assurance plans. A Florida native, Rudd received her undergraduate degree in Professional Communication from Florida State University and her MBA from the University of West Florida.

Welcome, Harrison Moon!

Harrison Moon has joined the sales department for Visit Panama City Beach as the Sales Coordinator. Harrison joined our staff May through August of 2018 as a Marketing, Sports and Events Intern assisting with familiarization tours, events and social media projects. He is a recent graduate of Florida State University, Panama City, Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Tourism and Events, Magna Cum Laude and an Associate of Arts degree from Gulf State College. Most recently he was Administrative Assistant for Alutiiq Commercial Enterprises, Tyndall Air Force Base.

Chasin’ The Sun, our award-winning fishing and coastal lifestyle TV show, is showcasing the destination to a national audience.  Through February, more than 1.2 million households have viewed the Discovery Channel show.  Catch all-new episodes of Chasin’ The Sunon Saturdays at 8:00 a.m. CST.

Thank You, Volunteers!

Thank you to our snowbird volunteers, Sally Erdmann and Jeanne LaFond, who while in PCB for the winter, donated their time helping the Visit Panama City Beach staff with all winter resident events. From donut days and Senior Prom, to our annual UNwineD event, their hard work and love for our destination is admirable and we appreciate every hour they spent assisting each department with these events. Thank you to these two and to all of the volunteers throughout the year, we appreciate you!

The sugar white sands of Panama City Beach will set the stage for the second annual adult-alternative rock music festival, SandJam Fest presented by Pepsi, coming up on April 26-28.
