TDT Collections

The Tourist Development Tax Collection for the month of April had a 3.1 percent increase over the same month in 2018 with a 41 percent increase for the fiscal year. Overall, collections are up $2.87 million since the beginning of the fiscal year.

For the month of April, occupancy had a 10.8 percent increase and there was a 1.0 percent decrease in ADR over the same month in 2017 fiscal year. The month of May had a projected performance of a 12.5 percent increase in occupancy and a 3.5 percent increase in ADR over the same month in 2018.The past six months had a 51.8 percent increase in occupancy and a 5.3 percent increase in ADR. The six months ahead have a projected performance of a 2.4 percent decrease in occupancy with a 1.4 percent increase in ADR.

Sales Travel Show Update

The Visit Panama City Beach Sales team attended the VISIT Florida Canada Roadshow and met with travel agents in Montreal and Toronto last month.  Agencies included Air Canada Vacations, HRG North America, Group Voyages, Travel Brands, Sunwing, Red Tag and VoX.  They also attended the Georgia Society of Association Executives, GSAE annual meeting in Greenville, SC.

Chasin' The Sun TV

“Chasin’ The Sun,” our fishing and coastal lifestyle television show, has been awarded nine 2019 Telly Awards for broadcast excellence in the categories of Nature/Wildlife, Sports and Cinematography.  The show airs Saturdays at 7am Central on Discovery Channel through June and new episodes will premiere in January 2020.
