TDT Collections

The Tourist Development Tax Collection for the month of May had a 0.7 percent increase over the same month in 2018 with a 23.9 percent increase for the fiscal year. Overall, collections are up $2.93 million since the beginning of the fiscal year.

For the month of May, occupancy had a 25.2 percent increase and there was a zero percent change in ADR over the same month in 2018 fiscal year. The month of June had a projected performance of a 2.8 percent increase in occupancy and a 1.9 percent decrease in ADR over the same month in 2018.The past six months had a 39.6 percent increase in occupancy and a 0.4 percent increase in ADR. The six months ahead have a projected performance of a 4.4 percent increase in occupancy with a 0.8 percent decrease in ADR.

The Panama City Beach Sports Complex is OPEN! This week it kicked off it's first event with the 130-team USFA Fast Pitch World Series on July 8th. The complex features nine Astroturf fields with zcap cooling system, four natural grass fields Bermuda 419, Qualite LED sports lighting, a dedicated tournament buildings, two championship fields with seating up to 1,500, within the multipurpose layout we can also have 10 youth softball fields and 5 full size baseball fields. The official grand opening including special festivities for Bay County residents will take place on Saturday, October 5th from 9am-12pm.

Visit PCB Hosted Panama City Beach Showcase

Visit Panama City Beach hosted the 1^st Panama City Beach Showcase at the 231 Welcome Center in Campbellton, FL.  There were 5 local businesses along with Pirates from the Pirates of the White Sands and just over 2,000 visitors on Saturday.  The participating businesses and visitors alike had a wonderful time and look forward to the next event!

The Chasin’ The Sun “Angler’s Adventure” sweepstakes (June 3-30) attracted more than 3,000 entries from all 50 states and the District of Columbia.  Congratulations to the Grand Prize winner,  who will visit Panama City Beach in the fall.  New episodes of our award-winning fishing and coastal lifestyle TV show will premiere on Discovery Channel in January 2020 and all episodes from seasons 1-4 are available on demand at ChasinTheSunTV.com, Amazon Prime and Youtube.

Visit PCB Sales Update

Chris O’Brien, Patrick Stewart, Talty O’Connor of Convention South, Linda Urban of the Sheraton Panama City Beach and Renee Wuerdeman attended a site visit of our destination for SPORTS The Relationship Conference meeting scheduled to take place in Panama City Beach in September of 2019.  This conference is set to bring in 80 rights holders and tournament directors.
