TDT Collections

The Tourist Development Tax Collection for the last three months of the 2018 year saw an overall increase over the same months in 2017. For October, we are currently showing an increase of 3.28 percent, November had a 142.79 percent increase and December had a 149.71 percent increase. Overall, collections are up $1.5 million since the beginning of the fiscal year.

Wine Down at UNwineD

The lineup of fantastic entertainment and events in 2019 continues with the third annual UNwineD event, presented in partnership with Southern Living magazine. The annual two-day event takes place March 22-23 at Aaron Bessant Park will feature craft beer and wine tastings, creative cocktails, culinary creations by the South's top leading chefs, and live musical performances from Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Brandi Carlile and national recording artist, JOHNNYSWIM. Be sure to check out the partner toolkit, where you can find event logos, billboards, and more to assist you in marketing the event.

Media & Creative Update

Visit Panama City Beach media and creative campaigns have been updated post storm to keep PCB top of mind and to remind everyone to plan ahead for spring. Two new creative campaigns were launched to transition to the broader messaging strategy that connects our local community with our visitors, with this month transitioning to our second phase of the Make It Yours campaign.

Sports & Events Workshop

We invite you to join us at our upcoming annual Sports & Events Workshop on Wednesday, February 20th at Edgewater Beach Resort. Networking with event right-holders will be available during the timed sessions and the Visit Panama City Beach advertising agency, Luckie & Co. will also be in attendance to present the first round of 2019 cooperative opportunities. PCB Mardi Gras & Music Festival

Chasin' The Sun

Country music star Lee Brice is our celebrity guest angler on the February 9 episode of Chasin’ The Sun.  Brice joins host Capt. Justin Leake for a quick fishing trip on Lake Powell, then gives us an all access pass to listen in as he works on songs for his new album.

The new season of Chasin’ The Sun airs Saturdays at 7am on Discovery Channel.  Previous episodes can be seen at ChasinTheSunTV.com.

Sales Travel Show Update

Throughout the month of  February, the Visit Panama City Beach Sales team is attending the AAA Great Vacations Travel Expo in Columbus, Ohio where they will meet with vendors from international and U.S. markets. They are also attending the International Inbound Travel Association travel show in Savannah, Georgia to meet with suppliers and tour operators from across the country.

 

Winter Residents

The first Winter Resident Appreciation Day was held on January 18th at Laketown Wharf. The event drew quite a crowd again this year where winter residents were treated to complimentary coffee, donuts and giveaways from local businesses.

The sugar white sands of PCB will set the stage for the second annual adult-alternative rock music festival SandJam Fest presented by Pepsi, on April 26-28, 2018. Performers include: Kings of Leon, Third Eye Blind, Young the Giant, Cold War Kids, Dirty Heads and The Revivalists, along with 20 more acts.
